If we were having coffee, I’d probably let you do most of the talking. You don’t mind of course, some weeks are like that. I worked more hours than usual and because I can’t give details about the assignments I undertake, it can get a little ambiguous! I would tell you that I worked a full day job in a sea side town and afterwards I went to the beach for an ice-cream with my close friend, Vicci, (we co-worked the job, which was a treat. She’s an exceptional interpreter). Vicci is a born communicator; she’s confident, bubbly and great fun.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that I finished my website and I wouldn’t be able to resist showing you the end result. I would listen to your feedback, and this would no doubt lead to a discussion about our recent blogging adventures. Mel’s Writing Menagerie is going well. Sometimes I’m tempted to take part, but as I create the prompts I usually resist and look for other challenges.
I would also share with you the answers to a Bedtime Book Tag that I saw on Callum’s site, and we would have a great discussion about books. I’d start us off by sharing my answers…
A book that kept you up all night reading – Bad Luck And Trouble (Lee Child)
A book that made you scared to go to sleep – Scream For Me (Karen Rose)
A book that made you go to sleep – The Gargoyle (Andrew Davidson) *I was travelling and, to be fair, I suffer from carcolepsy!*
A book that left you tossing and turning all night in anticipation of its release – Shards of Hope (Nalini Singh)
A book that has your dream boyfriend – The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Mark Twain) *I was fascinated by Huck when younger, so answered from memory!*
A book that would be your worst nightmare to live in – Yesterday’s Gone (Sean Platt & David Wright)
A book that reminds you of the night time – Innocence (Dean Koontz)
A book that had a nightmarish cliffhanger – Pet Sematary (Stephen King)
A book that you actually dreamed about – The Handmaid’s Tale (Margaret Atwood)
A book monster that you would not want to find under your bed – Vampire/Zombie from I Am Legend (Richard Matheson)
Then we might visit our lovely host, Diana, together, and catch up with all our other friends. We’re never short of things to talk about!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Until next time. Thanks for stopping by.
Mel

I’m glad you took part in the tag 🙂 There were a couple of books you mentioned that I’m not familiar with so I’ll need to look into them!
Have a great weekend 🙂
If one of them is The Gargoyle I can tell you it’s dark, mysterious and well written, but is a little slow to get started. It’s a good read though. Have you read Innocence by Dean Koontz? If not I would highly recommend it – it’s a wonderful novel. One of my favourites of his 😀
I haven’t, so I’ll certainly keep your recommendation in mind. Thanks, Mel 🙂
My pleasure 😀
I will join in your writing menagerie one day, but my muse for blogging has kept a low profile.
Have a great weekend!
You too 😀
I have to admit, I’m fascinated by your day job. At least from the few times I’ve read about it. I’m terrible with other languages, so the ability to be an interpreter is amazing to me. Congrats on the website.
Thanks, Charles 😀 I do enjoy processing between two languages I must admit, especially as one is a visual language. The grammar structure and syntax of BSL still fascinates me and perhaps it always will! It wasn’t easy to learn but I’ve been signing 20 years now – so I talk a lot with my hands without even realising I’m doing it! Have a great weekend 😀
Didn’t realize that there is a different sign language system for the UK and the USA. Though that does make sense.
Yes, in the USA you use a one-handed manual alphabet, whereas in the UK we use two. The signs are different, though there are similarities; especially iconic signs or those which represent an action. As an example, the sign for ice-skating in the US uses hooked index fingers to demonstrate the shape of the blade at the front (along with a gliding movement), and in the UK we use the same movement as though along ice, but we use the full (flat) hand, palms facing each other. ASL strongly influences International sign, so people from different countries can communicate easily. I could talk about it all day. Such a beautiful, rich and complex language! 😀
The two countries just can’t do anything in the same way. 😛
lol! 😀
I needed that cuppa, Mel. It’s 7am and I’m still mentally in bed. You as usual have been busy. You inspire me to keep working hard. I’m finishing up my online classes today–three of them! I love teaching online. It’s amazing how well you get to know each other via Google Hangouts, forums, and discussion boards.
See you soon!
Thanks, Jacqui – it’s always a pleasure to catch up with you. Enjoy your last 3 classes – I’ve never taken an online class. But I’ve heard good things. I must visit your other sites – I’ve been meaning to 😀
Mel, your website is awesome (the new one too). Have a good weekend and get some rest! ❤
Thank you, Colleen. It’s lovely of you to go take a peak – I wore myself out watching YouTube videos to find out how to work with the theme! Happy writing. I hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Is it a wordpress theme? WOW! That is fabulous!
It’s actually a MOJO theme, but I presume they work closely with wordpress. It’s called Highend, and when I’ve seen it used by web designers it’s wonderful. Still, I’m pretty happy with what I got it to do – I’m sure I’ll get better once I’ve learnt my way around the system! 😀
OMG, yes! The zombie/vampire thing from I Am Legend is just horrific! Not interested in finding that monster living in the same world as me, let alone under my bed!
lol! I’m totally with you there, Robin 😀
Fun book questions! Can’t think of any answers, of course. Those kinds of situational details just drop right through my mind.
I know what you mean! I few of them gave me pause, as my mind tracked back on all I’ve read 😀 A few of them are probably best guess!
