Some of you might know that I don’t write poetry unless I’m either challenged or psych myself up for it! Since Paul Burgess gave me a friendly challenge to write a Limerick, I decided to take him up on it. Paul has some crazy mad skills when it comes to poetry, and he favours the Limerick, so I’m hoping this hits the spot ๐
It’s based on a character I’ve been dragging around with me for quite a while (Lance Legion), and I’m particularly fond of him.
I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for reading.

I love a good limerick and this is a great example. I imagine you enjoyed getting to explore this character from a new angle. Nice work! ๐
Thanks, Callum. You’re right, I really enjoyed the challenge of it. I’m so glad you liked it, and it’s a real compliment when someone with your skills can appreciate what I was trying to do ๐
I am so thrilled you gave it a shot! It turned out nicely, and now I am curious to learn more about this hero:) I like the idea of a superhero limerick put to music as the hero’s theme song;)
That sounds like a fabulous idea, though I think I’ll leave it to someone else! I love Lance, he’s a constant presence and I don’t mind a bit. Thanks for commenting ๐
you nailed the rhythm smoothly and naturally. nothing sounds forced.
Thank you, that’s a huge compliment. I know it isn’t particularly funny, but it doesn’t come naturally to me, as it clearly does to you and I’m proud of what I did with it ๐
With your permission, I will reblog this post next time I’m at my computer.
I don’t mind a bit. That’s very kind of you. Thanks for your support – it means a lot ๐

Here is a guest post from a talented writer who accepted my friendly challenge to write a limerick. Please check out other work by Melissa: https://mbarkersimpson.wordpress.com
I like your limerick! I have a hard time writing those, so I envy those who pull it off ๐
Thanks, Janna. I almost gave up on it, so I’m glad it worked! ๐
