Before I get to my entry for this week’s Be Inspired Writing Challenge, I wanted to say a huge thank you to Amreen for her recognition, her support and her encouragement. She awarded me with a much sought after ‘Be Inspired badge’, and I will display it with pride. If you’d like to read the post, you can find it here. I always enjoy taking part in the challenges, not only because I am keen to improve my skills in poetry, but because they do exactly what the title suggests – they inspire me.
The challenge this week is to write a Clarity Pyramid, and here is my contribution:
I know I’ve used the subject of friendship before, but I hope you enjoyed it. The friendships I’ve made throughout my life make me a better person, and it is nice to think about all the friends I have yet to meet, those who will touch my life as I, in return, touch theirs.
Thanks for reading.
Mel
Congratulations! 🙂 The recognition was very much deserved and what a lovely poem this is; so effective in its simplistic, beautiful truth.
Aw, thanks, Callum. I should maybe have challenged myself a little more, but it was the first thought in my head and sometimes we have to go with it 🙂 It’s quite a nice form, and when I’m given something prescriptive it starts the ball rolling!
Friendship is a subject that can never be exhausted 🙂 Great piece!
Thanks, Mishka. I happen to agree – if love makes the world go round, surely friends sustain it 🙂
Wow Mel, this is so beautiful! Friends are so important and so is their bond. Thank you for your participation 🙂
Regards,
Amreen
Woo-hoo! Congrats and great clarity pyramid!
Thanks so much. I found the Decuain a huge challenge, so would take the clarity pyramid any day of the week 🙂 I appreciate the feedback.
Did you write one? I’m having a lack of motivation. It’s my Friday slump. 🙂
Yeah, I just finished it, though I almost filed it in the bin! I’m sure the ‘slump’ won’t last long and you’ll be inspiring us in no time at all 🙂
LOL I’m glad you have faith in me. I feel bone-tired today, but you never know… 🙂 An itch may bewitch… Have a great weekend!
You too 🙂 I like that, an itch may bewitch…happens to me all the time!
That’s what poetry is, for me. 🙂 Craft that makes me daft. 🙂
lol – I love it! It describes my sentiments exactly 🙂
